Part One: Crafting

Do you knit, crochet, or both?
I knit.

What do you like to make? Do you have a favourite project?
Socks and lace.

Do you have a favourite type of fibre or brand of yarn?
Earth friendly fibres.

Do you have a least favourite type of yarn?
Yarn from huge businesses which don’t seem to listen to their customers, yarn from companies where they don’t care about the welfare of the livestock their fibre comes from.

Do you do any other crafts?
I sew, although not as often as I intend to.

What knitting do you bring ‘on the go’?
Whatever I’m knitting at the time – my projects are usually portable.

What do you carry your ‘on the go’ knitting in? Do you want something new?
A series of sandwich bags 🙂 I’ve never found anything I like, and all the various take-along pouches I have seen are ugly.

Are there any knitting gifts (book, toy, yarn, item, tool) that you have been lusting over?
Maybe Cat Bordhi’s new book. I don’t seem to have much time for just knitting, never mind related activities.

Part Two: Your Favourites

What is your favourite colour? What is your least favourite colour?
Favourite is green. Probably least favourite is orange. Most colours have a moment when they are just right.

What scents/smells do you like? What don’t you like?
I like good jasmine, but not bad jasmine – it’s a fine line!

How do you like to pamper yourself? (bubble bath, hand creams, massage, manicure)
I enjoy painting my own nails, but netball is just about to restart so they are very short at the moment. I am quite fussy about what I put on my body – if you’d be happy to eat it then I’ll probably like it.

What goodies to you like to treat your tummy with? (chocolate, biscuits, truffles, etc.)
I like proper Turkish delight and flying saucers. Food in general is good but those are the things I love.

Do you prefer tea or coffee while you knit? Any particular kind? Favourite mug/cup?
Tea, good decaf or normal in black, green or white. I’m not a fan of fruity sweet infusions. I drink coffee rarely, and when I do it makes me crazy, so I drink it less often, so I have no tolerance and it makes me crazier… I have big mugs with big handles I can put all my fingers through. Some of them have sci-fi jokes on.

Do you listen to/watch anything while you knit? (TVshow-Along, movies, music, podcasts)
I listen to the craftlit podcast, but am rather behind. I’m re-watching Battlestar Galactica (for the third time – it’s a sickness) at the moment, and trying to get ahead on this years’ presents. I always have something on while I’m knitting, but if I need to look at what I’m doing I’ll switch to an audiobook. Contrariwise, I don’t watch anything unless I’m knitting (I don’t have a TV but I do play DVDs on my laptop).

Part Three: Living & Past-times

Where do you live in the UK? (General idea not address)
I live in west central London.

Have you always lived here, or did you grow up somewhere else?
I was born in London but lived near Washington DC when I was little, and go back about once a year. I have also lived in Brussels. I went to school in Bristol and am also quite used to Edinburgh.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
To Chicago to see my sister.

If you couldn’t go to a knitting group, what other kind of gathering would you go to? (book club, tea party, yoga class, jewellery class, etc.)
I’m just taking up netball again. Some weekends I go community gardening with BTCV people (come with us!). I am on the lookout for a fun choir too.

What’s your style? (elegant, traditional, glamorous, girly, natural, sporty, outgoing, etc.)
Traditional at work, jeans and a jumper at home. I value quiet and live alone on the top floor where I can watch the world go by.

Final Part:

Any allergies/preferences (fiber-wise or treat-wise)?
No allergies, but I am a VEGAN! See the vegan page.

Anything we missed that you’d like your partner to know?
Although I have a knitting blog, I don’t say much because I’m terrible at remembering to take pictures, and if I’m knitting a lot then I’m not typing. I can be very wordy via email, though!

Because I work for an agency, I can either have a lot of free time or be madly busy, and it’s not predictable. If you don’t hear from me for a bit, assume busy.

I’m at one of those points where my friends are having babies left, right and centre, so baby suitable yarn is always appreciated.
